A move to Dallas from California and subsequent frustration with a lack of artist work-space options inspired artist Hilary Donnelly to transform a dilapidated, 4,500 square foot warehouse near Trinity Groves into Beat Rice Studios and Open Space: a suite of artist studios connected to an exhibition space that she designed to foster creative endeavors. Beat Rice Studios is currently occupied by the following artists: Jennifer Ayyad, Hilary Donnelly, Erika Jaeggli, Ricardo Salas, and Keer Tanchack.
Equipped with a venue and a vision Hilary began collaborating with Dallas art veteran Caroline Belanger, who was looking for a space to support local artists and exercise her curatorial acumen. The aim of this collaboration is to create an ongoing dialogue between work in progress and the completed result. Together they are launching Open Space.
